Gina owns and operates Ecco La Cucina, located in the heart of Tuscany. Ecco La Cucina in Italian means “here’s the kitchen.” With this platform she shares her expertise on all aspects of the Italian table. Through hands-on classes, workshops and weeklong immersions into the food, wine and culture of Italy, she shares her knowledge of regional cuisine and history with visitors to the area. She has lived in Italy since 2000 working with local food producers and cooks while cultivating her craft. She also regularly visits the many regions that make up this diverse country, working with home cooks and producers focused on sustainability to learn the regional differences and traditions that make this world-renowned cuisine so special. Gina’s classes focus on the simplicity and purity of the Tuscan table, which is always fresh and seasonal.
“Italians have such a respect for the food and the process of preparing it”, Gina explains. “They spend so much time together at meals, their traditions and dishes are a part of whom their ancestors were and who they are today. I have a reverence for Italian cooking, the simplicity and purity of it, the respect for the freshest seasonal ingredients. My cooking, as well as how and what I teach, reflects that.”
Through her blog, Gina shares her insights into daily life and seasonal foods in Tuscany and Italy. She loves to travel and is constantly learning about the history, culture, food and wine of this beautiful country.
